About Etienne Gozems
I help businesses stay visible in a search landscape that is changing fast.
Traditional rankings still matter, but they are no longer the full picture. AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Deep Search, and zero-click results are changing how people find information and choose who to trust.
That means your content can no longer just target keywords. It needs to answer real questions, show expertise clearly, and be structured in a way that both people and AI systems can understand.
That is where I come in.
I started my career as a journalist at De Telegraaf, where I worked for four years. That experience still shapes the way I approach SEO today. Good content needs to be clear, relevant, useful, and written with the reader in mind. SEO should not make content worse. It should make strong content easier to find, understand, and trust.
After journalism, I moved into content writing and SEO. Over the years, I have worked on technical SEO audits, content strategies, affiliate websites, international SEO projects, structured data, internal linking, and large-scale content optimization. I have worked with Dutch, English, and international websites across different business models. That experience taught me that SEO is never one-size-fits-all. A local service business, an affiliate site, a SaaS company, and an international e-commerce brand all need a different strategy.
My current focus is AI SEO, AEO, and GEO: helping websites become easier to understand, extract, cite, and trust by both search engines and AI systems. For me, AI SEO does not replace traditional SEO. It builds on top of it. Your website still needs strong technical foundations, useful content, clear topical authority, good internal linking, and trustworthy signals. But now, your content also needs to be modular, well-structured, and easy for AI systems to use as a reliable source.
I help websites improve visibility in AI-driven search experiences such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini. This includes content structure, question-and-answer sections, schema markup, and topical coverage.
I help businesses build authority around the topics that matter most to their audience. Instead of publishing random blog posts, we create a clear content structure around core services, supporting topics, search intent, and internal links.
I improve existing pages so they answer the right questions more clearly. Better headings, sharper introductions, clearer summaries, stronger internal links, better FAQ sections, and content that better matches search intent.
I identify technical issues that stop search engines from crawling, indexing, understanding, or trusting your website — including crawlability, canonical tags, hreflang, structured data, site architecture, and Core Web Vitals.
I help websites scale across markets without creating confusion for search engines. This includes international site structure, hreflang, localized content, language targeting, and making sure translated pages feel natural rather than copied.
In competitive or sensitive niches, it needs to be clear why your website deserves to be trusted. I help strengthen author profiles, expert input, source attribution, structured data, and on-page credibility.
Most SEO strategies are still too focused on keywords and rankings.
Those things matter, but they are not enough anymore.
The real goal is to become a reliable source of information in your niche. Your website should answer the questions your audience is asking, explain topics better than your competitors, and make your expertise easy to recognize.
For AI search, this becomes even more important. AI systems need clear answers, strong structure, trustworthy sources, and content that is easy to extract. If the best answer is hidden somewhere inside a long paragraph, there is a good chance it will be missed.
That is why I focus on content that is useful for people, understandable for search engines, and structured for AI systems.
"SEO is no longer only about ranking. It is about becoming a trusted source that people, search engines, and AI systems can understand."
I do not believe in vague SEO reports with hundreds of low-priority recommendations. My work is practical and focused on what can actually improve visibility.
Depending on the project, this can include:
The goal is always the same: clear recommendations, strong priorities, and SEO work that supports business growth.
